DIY Printing: Cupcake Topper Tutorial

LeAnn from The Modest Homestead recently used L. Olson Designs invites, cupcake toppers, and custom designed matching papers to create a fabulous Elephant-themed baby shower! We’ve asked her to do a tutorial on how she puts together DIY printable cupcake toppers from our Etsy shop.

Paper party decorations are growing more and more popular these days and for good reason. It’s a great way to add a lot of impact to a party for not a lot of money. I use them all the time to incorporate a theme or colors into the decor. Today I’m showing you how to put together paper cupcake toppers.

You will need:

  • A sheet of printable cupcake toppers {printed on white card stock}
  • 6″ pop sticks
  • Paper cutter or scissors
  • Scotch tape
  • 2″ scallop circle punch

First, cut out each of the rows into strips.

So they look like this.

Next, center each of the cupcake toppers in the scallop circle and punch them out.

Tape the pop stick onto the back of the circle, making sure the front side of the topper is facing up.

So easy! I love that these can be made in advance so on the day of your party you can just pop them in your cupcakes and they’re ready to serve.

Dessert and decoration all in one!
